How do you tackle cows in the dark?

Tonight, I ran into a smallish herd of cows along my running route. Suddenly, there they were! in my Petzl Nao’s beam. After running past them, I started thinking that maybe not all runners do what I do when faced with a bovine encounter in the darkness.
