Run Streak 1031

Day 1031 in run streak, 10,4 kilometres.

Too hot!!! 27°C… Stupid me got a feeling early today, that this was the perfect day to run my absolutely fave 10K run. So, coming home from work this is what I set out to do. Obviously…? Obviously! 😀

This made me reflect a bit on motivation and such. I’ve noticed over the course of my run streak this far, that weather trigger my motivation. Especially ”extreme weather”. Like very hot, or very rainy, or dark, or better: rainy, snowy dark. Simply put: I get a motivation boost when the weather is generally thought of as ”bad” or not possible to run in. That spurs me on like nothing else.

Why? Possibly many reasons. One being that I started my running career some 38 years ago in orienteering, and in this sport we don’t let weather deter us. Another reason is quite obvious that I feel that I am ”better” than ”others” when I brave nature by running 10K in pitch blackness, wading through puddles of mushy, wet snow. 😀
