Here’s a short summary of the site in English.
I who write this blog am Andreas Björklind (born 1967). I live in Linköping, Sweden, with my wife and four kids. I work as a child and youth psychologist at the University Hospital in Linköping. Running is something I love to do, especially out in the woods on trails. I am fortunate to have the woods right on my doorstep, so I can run out there every day, all year around. And, that is exactly what I am aiming for now.
As of 2014-07-24, my goal was to run everyday for at least a one hundred days run streak. This goal was met on the last day of October, 2014: 100 days run streak. My current goal is simply to keep the run streak alive for as long as I can!
Why do I call my blog Run Sgurr? Simple! Sgurr is an internet nickname I’ve been using for some twenty years now. The word Sgurr is Scottish gaelic (pronounciation):
sgurr fir. /sguːR - sguRə/
gen. -a, pl. -an
1 high pointed hill, peak
2 cliff, craig
I’ve always been interested in Scotland, Scottish gaelic and since the early nineties, also Scottish folk music (the Great Highland Bagpipe in particular, which I also play). One important part of the interest in Scotland is the fabulous nature, and especially the Scottish mountains. Therefore, what can be more natural than to pick a internet nick that means peak?
